 About Us

Lee Wood embarked onto the property management scene in 1983 as a condominium resident manager.  With overwhelming enthusiasm he plunged head first into this career.

Paradise Manor Condominiums, a 96 unit condominium complex now known as Treasure Island Condominiums, served as his first training ground into property management.  At that time, the Treasure Island Hotel was incomplete and in a state of bankruptcy and the condominiums were on their own in the shadow of the unfinished project.

It was a great challenge to successfully improve a property which was in a state of neglect, suffering from underground water leaks, the need for major renovations and on top of everything else had no cash flow.  By the time Paradise Manor merged with Treasure Island Hotel in 1986, it had become a well established, prosperous property showing a 75% increase in tourist rentals resulting with the rental and strata accounts reflecting reciprocal balances.

In 1986, Lee was pleased to be the first manager to receive the award of "Condominium Manager of the Year" from the American Express Company and the Cayman Islands Hotel and Condominium Association.  He served as vice-president of the CIHCA in 1986, 1988, and again in 1991 as well as Chairman of the fund-raising committee from 1985 -1987.  It was a spectacular year in 1985 for fund raising events in which this couple organized the Chinese Magic Circus performance here at the Lions Centre which subsequently earned them the CIHCA Fund Raising award for high achievement.

With the realization of the need for the training in the local community, Lee worked with the CIHCA to establish the scholarship program for the educational training of Caymanians in the tourism industry.  Recipients were awarded a scholarship to study abroad and the first candidate was sent off to Canada in 1987.

More career advancement opportunities came forth during the years with the management of the Villas of the Galleon and Plantana Condominiums.  Lee continued to enhance upon his knowledge, harness the skills of the field and subsequently after 12 years of on-site resident management he and his wife, Darla, decided to take the next step of opening their own property management company in September 1995.
